NVIDIA RTX 3080Ti Review

NVIDIA has officially released its new 3080Ti Graphics Cards. Are they worth the price hike from the 3080? Is it better to just spend a bit extra and get a 3090? Let’s take a look.

Unfortunately, it is not the best time to buy any computer parts. PC Part stock has been eaten up after it’s been posted and parts have been posted on eBay for prices way over MSRP. Let’s take a look and see if the 11900K is even worth it if you can in fact find it in stock.

NVIDIA claims that the RTX 3080Ti brings ultra-performance to the table. The 3080Ti includes 12GB of GDDR6X memory, 2GB more than the 3080, and half of the 3090. It also includes 2nd Generation RT, 3rd Generation Tensor Cores, and includes NVIDIA’s new Light-Hash-Rate Technology (LHR), which limits Etherium mining.

Here’s a recap of the RTX 3000 Series Lineup.

Gaming Benchmarks

In Death Stranding at 1440p, the RTX 3080Ti beats the previous 3080 by 16 average FPS and is only 1 average FPS away from the 3090.

In Watch Dogs Legion at 1440p, the RTX 3080Ti again beats the 3080 by 10 average FPS, and is almost on par with the 3090, only losing out by 5 average FPS.

Moving onto Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the 3080, 3080Ti, and 3090 are all within the margin of error from each other. The 3080 loses to the 3080Ti by 2 average FPS.

In the 12 Game Average at 1440p, the 3080Ti beats the 3080 by 11 average FPS, and comes right behind the 3090, only losing by 6 average FPS. The VRAM increase doesn’t seem to affect the card’s performance much in games.

Final Opinions

The 3080Ti is a great card if you can find it at an MSRP of $1,099. Unfortunately, that won’t be easy. Cards have been selling out faster than ever, with scalpers marking these cards up at insane prices on eBay.

Should I get a 3090 for only 300$ more? That depends on your use case. If you plan on using your Graphics Card for professional work such as Editing, 3D Rendering, and high VRAM intensive tasks, the 3090 would definitely be a better fit for you.

The 3080 is still one of the best prices for performance cards if you can find it at its $699 MSRP. It’s hard to recommend GPUs right now as they are very hard to come by, but I hope by our review you can make an educated guess when the time comes.
