NVIDIA Announces New RTX 3090 Ti and RTX 3050 and 3070 Ti and 3080 Ti Laptop GPUs

NVIDIA announced their latest and greatest GPUs, the highest-end being the RTX 3090 Ti and a more budget-focused card, the RTX 3050. On top of these announcements for the PC Builder community, they also announced that RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti will be making an appearance in laptops.

NVIDIA RTX 3090 Ti

NVIDIA announced their latest and greatest BFG being called the RTX 3090 Ti. The Founders Edition version looks very similar to their previous 3090 but will pack some serious power.

It will be on NVIDIAs GA102 GPU die which is said to feature 10,752 CUDA cores (10,496 previously on the 3090). This board will also feature 12 2GB modules rather than 24 1GB models found on the 3090. The GDDR6X board memory will be provided by Micron, running at 21Gbps compared to 19.5Gbps on the 3090.

It’s hard to say where the performance of this card will be, but we will expect it to be the fastest gaming card on the market. In terms of pricing, the 3090 was already priced high at $1,499 MSRP for the Founders Editions and AIBs ranging from $2,000 to $3,000. We can expect the 3090 Ti Founders Edition to be priced around $2,000 MSRP with AIBs coming in at $2,500 to $3,500. More information about this card will be released later this month according to Jeff Fisher.

NVIDIA RTX 3050

NVIDIA also announced their budget-focused card, the RTX 3050. This card will be launching worldwide from AIBs on January 27th, starting at $249. This card is stated to be created to allow 16xx GPU gamers to step up to RTX quality.

The RTX 3050 is based on the GA106 die, holding 2560 CUDA cores and 8 GBs of GDDR6 memory running at 14 Gbps.

NVIDIA announced that brand partners will be releasing RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti laptops on February 1st. These laptops will deliver Ultra 1440p performances and include NVIDIAs latest and greatest ray-tracing features.

The RTX 3070 Ti based laptops will start at $1,499 whereas the RTX 3080 Ti based laptops will start at a whopping $2,499. We don’t have very many details on the specs of these laptops, but we expect both to be a healthy bump over their predecessor laptops.
